P1(c) Script

Meaning and Purpose: In this part, I'm going to talk about the shooting script that I am going to use in the future. In order to make sure I know what I'm doing during the shooting, this script is used for letting me follow through the taking footage.

Starbucks advert

Starring: Boy(young adult)(three stories are about him)

Main character: Man(boss), Girl(young adult), Boy2(young adult)

Scene 1

Character: Boy, Man(boss)

Place: Office

Props: Laptop, lots of worksheet, books, pen
Shots: Long shot to show the office, close-up of Marco working

Daytime

Boy(busy and concentrate on his work): The boy is working in his office with his colleague. He is typing on the computer and using a pen to make some notes, he is very focused on his work.

Man(angry and walk quickly): Then a man comes in with some worksheets and he walks to the boy who is working on his position. The man throws the worksheets on the table impatiently.

Boy(startle): The boy stands up suddenly because of a shout of his boss. He lowered his head and listen to his boss.

Man(angry and shouting): He points at the worksheet and uses the pen to circle out mistakes. Then he watches on his watch to see the time and tell the boy that he should finish on time. Then he leaves.

Boy(upset): The boy sorts out the worksheets and sits down. He shakes his head and sighs in despair but he still needs to keep working even though he feel very stressful.

Night

Boy(tired): The boy is still working even if everybody gets off work. He feels very tired because of he works for a long time. Then he yawned and fall asleep.

Man(happy): Walking out through the office with his bag.

Man(worry): He looks at the table and sees the boy is sleeping. He feels relieved and a little bit worries about him.

Man(thinking): He goes to Starbucks and buys a cup of coffee. Then he goes back to the office and put the coffee on the table.

Boy(wakes up): He looks at the coffee and feels happy. Smiling and drinking. Then he goes back to do his work again.

Scene 2

Character: Boy, Girl

Place: Office

Props: Starbucks’s coffee cup
Shots: Close-ups to the door that Gladys is looking at him and coffee on the table

Girl(smile): A girl gets up early and buys a cup coffee from Starbucks. She always arrives at the company earlier than the boy.

Girl(keep smiling): She goes in the boy’s office and puts a cup on the table then leave.

Boy(cheerful): The boy arrives at the company and goes in is office, then he sees the coffee which is on his table. He is wondering who gives this to him.

Boy(smile): He sits down and drinks the coffee.

Girl(shy): She stands outside the window and looks at the office. She smiles when she sees the boy is drinking the coffee. And she doesn’t know the boy is watching her through the mirror.

Boy(happy): He is looking at the girl in the mirror and feels happy.

Girl(satisfied): Keep smiling.

Scene 3

Character: Boy, Boy2

Place: Bedroom, field

Props: iPhone
Shots: Close-up to the phone beside bed, and following shot when Bosco is calling

Boy2(excited): Calling his old friend.

Boy(sleep): He is sleeping when the phone is ringing. After a second, he picks up his phone and feels very annoying.

Boy(surprised): Then he feels unbelievable that his friend ask him to go to Starbucks because of they lose contact for a long time.

Scene 4

Character: Boy, Boy2

Place: Starbucks

Props: Starbucks Coffee
Shots: Medium shots to show Marco has a best friend which cares about him a lot.

Boy2(happy): He is sitting in the Starbucks Coffee shop and waiting for his friend.

Boy(look forward to meeting Boy2): Going to Starbucks. Open the door and see his friend is waiting for him. Call his name.

Boy2(excited): Stands up and goes to give him a hug.

Scene 5

Character: Boy, Man(boss)

Place: Office

Props: Some folders, worksheets and laptops.
Shots: Mediums shots

Man(cheerful): He is checking the boy’s work and feel satisfied because of the quality is much better than before.

Boy(nervous): Holding a folder and going to give it to his boss. Knocking the door.

Man(smile): Ask him to go in. Stands up praised him and shake his hand.

Boy(more confident): Shake his hand and smile.

Scene 6

Character: Boy, Girl

Place: Office

Props: Starbucks’s coffee, marker
Shots: Close-ups of writing, Behind shoulder of Gladys

Man(happy): Uses the marker to write the time and place on the Starbucks paper cup before he gets off the work. His face expression looks like he is planning something.

Next day, the girl goes to the boy’s office and puts the coffee on his table as usual.

Girl(smile): She sees there is a cup with some notes, so she picks up the cup and has a look the notes. Then she starts to thinking something.

Scene 7

Character: Boy, Girl

Place: Starbucks Coffee Shop

Props: A cup of coffee
Shots: Long shot of Marco walking towards Gladys, and Gladys waiting for him

Girl(nervous): She is standing in front of the Starbucks and waiting for the boy.

Boy(a little bit nervous but look forward to meeting the girl): He buys a cup of coffee and writes “Can you be my girlfriend?” on the cup.

Boy(a little bit shy): He goes to meet the girl with the coffee and show the notes to the girl when they stand face to face.

Girl(shy): She sees the boy and the notes on the cup. Then she nods with a smile and takes the cup.

Scene 8

Character:  Boy, Boy2

Place: Starbucks

Props: Two Starbucks coffee

Shots: Medium shots of both chating

They are sitting in the coffee shop and chatting. Drinks some coffee during the chatting.
